To help celebrate our 100th issue, the good people at Final Audio Design will give away a 100 pairs of their excellent £70 Adagio III in-ear monitor earphones. Now in its 40th year, the Japanese Final Audio company is a small, extremely specialist audio company that has made everything from small, lightweight amplifiers powered by an array of D-Cell batteries to horn loudspeakers that weighed as much as a car. All that changed in recent years, as the company began to concentrate exclusively on headphones and in-ear monitors, although the company still applies exactly the same passion and energy to the in-ear and headphone world.
When we tested the Adagio III in-ear monitors in the last issue, our in-ear expert Chris Martens praised the IEMs –“From the outset,” said Martens, “I was struck by how open, transparent, lively, and generally well balanced the Adagio IIIs sounded.” He was also taken by the way the 8mm dynamic drivers deliver a vibrant ‘live sound’ atmosphere and the Balanced Air Movement (BAM) mechanism that is claimed to help the earphones produce powerful bass and deep 3D spatial expression. Even the way the two ear modules have different colours to make channel identification easy shows this is a company thinking outside the box.
And we’ve got many sets of these fantastic Final Audio Adagio III IEMs to give away, to 100 lucky readers.
