Teaming with Netgear, Verismo Network’s VuNow Brings Internet Video to Your TV

Mountain View, CA-based Verismo Networks has announced that it is collaborating with NETGEAR on “products that will enhance TV entertainment by giving consumers the ability to access and enjoy Internet video directly on the TV without a computer.” According to a company release, the “partnership leverages Verismo’s strength in multimedia and Internet TV, along with NETGEAR’s global leadership in home networking solutions…”

At the heart of the collaborative effort is an innovative new Verismo product called the VuNow ($99), which, says the release, “lets users stream and watch Internet content right on their televisions with a click of the remote.” What is more, the VuNow Internet TV platform “gives consumers the broadest choice of online video content including movies, YouTube videos, live TV channels, and more.” A company spokesman also indicated to AVguide/Playback reporters that VuNow also plays Torrents.
