On June 22nd 2013, Wilson Benesch Marketing Manager, Luke Milnes, will depart from Corsica, to begin Stage 1 of the Centenary 2013 Tour de France. He will tackle the entire 21-Stages, 2,100-Miles and high mountain passes of the Centenary Tour.
Luke will be fundraising for the William Wates Memorial Trust (WWMT), with the aim of raising at least £2,000 to assist in the work of the charities across the UK who are supported by the WWMT.
The WWMT is a grant giving registered charity set up in 1998 with a mission to help the most disadvantaged young people avoid a life of crime and violence, and fulfil their potential. This is mainly achieved by supporting charities which engage young people through the medium of sports, arts, music and education.
In support of Luke's fundraising efforts, Wilson Benesch will be donating part of the proceeds of a Limited Edition 'Maillot Jaune' Yellow Vertex Loudspeaker to the WWMT.
"Being an keen cyclist, it has always been a dream of mine that I would one day cycle the Tour de France, I think many cyclists probably share this dream, but rarely does that dream become a reality! The opportunity to work with a charity such as the William Wates Memorial Trust and supporting the work they do across the UK is a bonus. Being able to draw on our family business, with a Limited Edition Loudspeaker auction is really exciting and a wonderful way to engage with our fans around the world, whilst drawing attention to the charity and the work they do"
Luke will complete the Tour de France Route on Sunday 14th July on the Champs-Élysées, which will coincide with the opening of the online auction that will run via eBay for Charity, the auction will run for 7-days and close with the arrival of the professional cyclists in Paris, Sunday 21st July 2013.
