Stirling Broadcast LS3/5a V3 stand-mount loudspeaker

Stirling Broadcast LS3/5a V3

Finally, it’s important to play vocals, as that speech reproduction was the LS3/5a main aim. So, I played some vinyl in the form of ‘Ebony and Ivy’ [Esperanza Spalding, Emily’s D+Evolution,Concord], which kicks off with high speed spoken word lyrics that are often difficult to understand. But not here. When the BBC set out to make a speaker for speech they did a really great job.

I have to admit to being won over by this LS3/5a. It does so much so well that you can forgive its shortcomings. If you value communication above bandwidth and SPLs this is a very tempting proposition, especially where space is limited. I have to hand it to Stirling; the V3 is a beauty.
